Thyrd Wheel asks: "I need the name of a mountain range or site that man hath yet to build apon. Anybody? Anybody? Google has failed me!"
Warren replies: 'Denali in Alaska. No one hath yet built upon it because it's a national park.'
yeochief2002 replies: 'Google failed you because the two terms remote and habitable when applied to mountains in the United States will exclude one or the other. Any habitable mountain in the United States has been built upon therefore making it not remote. National Parks are neither remote nor habitable for the general public. Some parks are more difficult to reach than others, but all are reachable and all have at least some caretaker personnel living in them.'
Larry454 replies: 'Hmmm - Remote - but habitable is almost an oxymoron. The Brooks Range in Alaska is about as remote as you can get, but I would question its habitability. There are areas in the lower 48 that are more habitable but less remote - likethe Wind River Range or the Absarokas in Wyomingthe Bitterroot Range in Idahothe Rockies where they extend through Montanathe Cascades in Oregon and Washingtonthe White mountains in New Hampshirethe Superstition Mountains in ArizonaI think any of these areas are perfectly capable of getting someone in trouble that is not fully prepared to survive in them. Most of them include a significant region bound up as government land, but private holdings would be easy enough to find with a little legwork. Living there would not be easy.'
jimmy h asks: "Watch is the mountain? I have to know. thanks"
jeepwife4ever replies: 'Stuff - like ropes, etc.'
