Users can then use the mobile phone network until they run out of credit. The alternative billing method (and what is commonly referred to as a mobile phone contract) is the post-paid mobile phone, where a user enters into a long-term billing arrangement with a mobile network operator or carriage service provider (CSP).
In parts of Japan, all you have to do in order to pay for something is wave your cell phone. MasterCard is now working on getting the ball rolling for a similar system here in the US, but actually getting equipped phones into the hands of the public will be the real challenge.
Have you ever signed up for a cell phone contract and then later figured out that it just wasn't going to work for you? It's a pretty common scenario which usually ends with the customer paying a huge fee for the "privilege" of breaking the contract. However, there are ways to get out of your contract without losing a pile of money!

'1they work by getting a prepaid card (10$ 15$ etc) and each minute/day/text cost you so much.2 this question is a little confussing, you go through a carrier yes. and you have to have cell service yes. but there are no contracts or anything you walk into walmart get the phone load the card on to it and start using it. 3. not that i know of. i know that if you pay a dollar a day at&t will give you mobile to mobile4. i have seen the GO Phone (at&t) at walmart for as low as 10$ and the great thing about at&t is you can use anyphone they have just move your sims'

Cinglar go phones run on the cingular network. T-Mobile prepaid phones run on the T-Mobile networkVirgin Mobile phones run on the Sprint network Boost Mobile runs on the Sprint-Nextel networkAmped runs on the Verizon networkHelio runs on the Sprint networkTracphone actually runs on all the major networks. it just depends which handset you get. And of course the major carriers run on their own networks. What this means is any prepaid handset you get should operate just as well as its postpaid counterpart on the same network. 'To answer your question NO. Reliability of phone service has nothing to do if is a pay as you go phone or if it is with plans.What determines the reliability of a service depends, upon the coverage of your service provider. When I say coverage , it means do they have enough actual cell sites to cover you where you go and be using your cellphones.Another factor, is your phone but it basically complements each other with the cell sites. You don't need the fancy ones with all the bells and whistles . It almost does the same thing as one without them.Try Verizon or AT&T(formerly Cingular). Pay as you go is good if you really does not your phone a lot but if you do it comes out more expensive. The good thing about it is that it limits yourself should you really talk a lot on the phone.(AT&T pay as you go plan is $0.25 per minute but you got better coverage compared to Trackfone. There are also I believe two other pay as you plans with AT&T. Check that out)Think it over but check out the regular plans also because if you really use your phone a lot and can estimate how many you will use, it comes out much cheaper and you get discount on phones as well. Pay as you go no discounts on the phone equipment coz no commitment. What is 2 years ? It is not like marriage or eternity.Anyway good luck on your decision.'

But anyway...........u just buy a card that has minutes on it, u can buy them at publix or a gas station. then u call the # on the card and then u tell them the I.D # on the card and they activate it. 'We have had prepaid cell phones for several years. We started with one. We now have three. They are great. You know exactly how much tine you have so you can plan your calls according to your time. On our plan a $15.00 card lasts one month and a $30 .00 card lasts two months. You just have to watch your time to make sure you don't get deactivated and buy more time before your card runs out..'

But anyways prepaid cells are only good to get if your not one to use it alot ie only if your gonna use it for emergency use only cuz your gonna end up paying 3 times as much as you would with a prepaid cell as you would a cell with a plan if you use it regularly seeing most your gonna pay at least $30 everytime you have to add more minutes! So IMO prepaid cells are really actually not worth it at all! Hope I helped....lol'
